The initial moment of revelation for the Messenger of Allah occurred through a vivid dream, a premonition that materialized precisely as envisioned.

Subsequently, he sought solitude in the cave of Hira for periods of reflection. At the age of forty, while in this cave, he encountered our master Jibril. In this pivotal moment, Jibril instructed him to:

إقرأ (Iqra),

which translates to "Recite." The Prophet responded with:

ما أنا بقارئ؟ (Ma ana biqari?)

This means: "What should I recite? I have not learned anything that can be recited." Yet, Jibril insistently reiterated:

إقرأ (Iqra),

indicating an imperative to begin a new form of recitation, distinct from any prior knowledge. Once more, the Messenger replied:

ما أنا بقارئ؟ (Ma ana biqari?)

A third time, Jibril urged:

إقرأ (Iqra).

The Prophet, still perplexed, questioned:

ما أنا بقارئ؟ (Ma ana biqari?)

This prompted Jibril to convey the following revelation:

{اقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق خلق الإنسان من علق اقرأ و ربك الأكرم الذي علم بالقلم علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم}

(Iqra 'l-bismi rabbika ladhi khalaq; khalaqa l-min' insana 3alaq; Iqra wa l-Rabbouka akram; al-ladhi 3allama bi-qalam; 3allama al-lam'insana ma ya3lam),

which translates to: "Recite in the name of your Lord Who created. He created man from a blood clot. Recite! Your Lord is Most Generous, Who taught by the pen, taught man what he knew not." [Surat Al-Alaq / 1-5]

Upon returning to Khadijah, the Prophet expressed his distress with the words:

زملوني زملوني (Zammilouni, zammilouni),

meaning: "Cover me, cover me." She and those present comforted him and listened to his account of the event.

Following this monumental experience, the Messenger of Allah commenced his mission to guide people towards the worship of Allah alone while denouncing idol worship. Throughout his life, he harbored no affection for statues and was raised in the belief in Allah Ta’ala, akin to all prophets.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that he was not fully aware of the comprehensive details of religious laws prior to receiving divine revelation.
